Prime minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov charged the profiling ministries to work out a long-term food strategy of the country.

"I charged the Agrarian Minister, Economy Minister and Finance Minister with a task to submit their proposition regarding a long-term food strategy of the state," Azatov said at today's session of the Cabinet, ForUm's correspondent reports.

According to him, the main goal of the food strategy is to make Ukraine a stable food producer for domestic and foreign markets. "On one hand there is a world tendency to food price rise, on the other we have a cyclic pattern of demand and proposition, as well as a cycle of year of plenty and off year. All this must be taken into account in the strategy," the head of state added.

In addition, Azarov pointed out a necessity to provide food conservation program. "We can solve this issue. This year we have started mass construction of and wholesale market and vegetables stores, but it is only the beginning of the program," he said.

Azarov assured that under the condition of normal work of agricultural producers Ukraine does not face any seasonal food deficit.
