All of the 13 bills failed at the evening meeting. Support was denied to the initiatives on switching to a proportional electoral system with open party lists, on holding parliamentary elections in two rounds, etc.
Thus, the Regions Party fulfilled its plan voiced by Yefremov earlier: "We carry out systematic work on each bill... According to the available conclusion of the expert group we will not support other bills (on elections - ed.), which are submitted today to the hall. Our aim is to clear the field for system bill (Presidential - ed.) and to pass it."
According to the deputy, the presidential bill will be considered as soon as the Venice Commission announces its report on the document.
