MP of Ukraine, member of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction Vasyl Horbal stated that the government is preparing a package of laws to support domestic producers and import substitution. According to the MP, currently the programme of domestic producers’ support is being worked out, ForUm learned from the party press office.
"In particular, the budget provides the sum of 600 million UAH to compensate the interest rates for domestic producers," the parliamentarian said.
"I think that within a month we will submit to Parliament a number of bills in some areas. The topic of import substitution is extremely urgent now. This is what the President says, this issue is actually being discussed at all Cabinet of Ministers working sessions. Therefore, I believe these legislative initiatives to be extremely beneficial for Ukrainian economy in order to develop national production, domestic market and to level imbalance in terms of external trade balance," Vasyl Horbal said.
He also added that the pace of reforms has been poor, however, the next year budget and legislative changes, accompanying reforms, provide their significant acceleration already in 2012.
