President Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Israel Avigdor Lieberman.
“Today the peoples of Ukraine and Israel pay tribute to the tragic day of common history – the Babi Yar tragedy that claimed lives of thousands of people,” the President said, ForUm learned fom the presidential press office.
“The representatives of many nationalities and believers’ communities are living peacefully in Ukraine today,” Viktor Yanukovych said. According to the President, modern Ukraine is actively working on the prevention of xenophobia, chauvinism and intolerance to other peoples.
“Humanity makes conclusions from the Babi Yar tragedy and the martyrdom of thousands of people remains in the memory,” The President said.
