The issue of FTA Agreement signing between Ukraine and the European Union has obligatory to pass public debate and parliamentary hearings, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said after his meeting with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.

"Before signing the Agreement on free trade area, we certainly still have to undergo some internal procedures. We need to go through public discussion, to gather representatives of producers’ association, to hold parliamentary hearings," Viktor Yanukovych said, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

According to President, this issue should be approached responsibly, taking into account that Ukraine has "some very sensitive groups of products, manufacturers of which have to prepare properly and to be competitive on the European and world markets."

"Ukraine is generally willing to raise the level of economy and competitiveness," Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
