MP of Ukraine from the Party of Regions Volodymyr Oliynyk said that the articles on responsibility of officials for abuse of authority and failure to fulfill official duties are in legislation of the most countries of the world. Ukraine is not unique in this, he said in comments to UNN, ForUm learned in the press office of the party.

"For example, Iceland prosecutes the prime minister who has not informed Parliament about the threat of crisis and has not read the letter of the National Bank, because he thought everything would turn out well. But he is accused of improper performance of official duties. This is one of the offenses of the group of so-called "malfeasance in office," the MP emphasized.

He said that in some countries there are no such articles. "But these countries don't have such corruption level that exists in Ukraine, Russia and some other European countries," the parliamentarian said.
