Minister for Internal Affais of Ukraine Anatoly Mohyliov states that Luhansk city council deputy Roman Landyk refuses to testify in connection with the criminal case instituted against him for beating up a girl.

"The charges have been brought, but he refused to give any explanations saying he is innocent. He also said he refuses to testify," Mohyliov told a press conference.

The Minister informed that a court issued yesterday a two months arrest order for Landyk, "as there are facts that he tried to escape investigation."

Mohyliov also noted there were attempts to shelter Landyk from responsibility. The Minister pointed out that all citizens of Ukraine, despite their social status, are even before the law.
