Ukraine is ready to join international efforts to fight extremism, ethnic hatred, religious intolerance and racism, Raisa Bogatyriova, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) said in her speech at the Second International Meeting of High Representatives on Security Issues in Yekaterinburg, Russia., ForUm learned in the press office of NSDC.
According to her, forceful response to the already hot crisis situation will not have full effect. It is necessary to solve the economic and social contradictions that fuel extremism in the modern world, Bogatyriova emphasized.
Bohatyriova expressed a conviction that the effectiveness of international security policy directly depends on the ability of the international community to target its efforts simultaneously on two vectors: to fight the existing extremism and to prevent the marginalization of social groups on ethnic, religious or ethnic grounds.
