The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine has presented a satellite monitoring system of land, water and forest resources. The presentation has taken place in the Cabinet, ForUm's correspondent reported.

Minister's advisor Yuri Sorokin told journalists that the system allows space monitoring of land, water and forest resources, as well as construction and mining accurate within half a meter.

According to him, the ministry plans to start monitoring Ukraine's resources already this year.
Minister of ecology Mykola Zlochevsky told journalists that the shots of the satellite system can be submitted as a proof in court in case of hearing illegal land use or construction.

He also informed that the government allocated 50 million UAH for this program and that the monitoring system starts working this year.

"The Ministry will announce a tender on system maintenance, and the tender will determine a company, which will deliver satellite shots for the ministry," Zlochevsky said.

He also added that the annual cost of the monitoring service would make about seven million USD.
