Ukraine and the European Union achieved a significant progress in negotiations on Association Agreement signing and passed to the final stage of the process, announced EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle at the meeting with President of Ukraine on Friday, September 16, at the 8th YES Yalta Annual Meeting "Ukraine and the World: Common Challenges, Common Future", according to UNIAN.

"A lot is achieved, passed to the final stage of signing of the Association Agreement. The quality of relations between Ukraine and the European Union depends not only on progress at the negotiating table," said Štefan Füle.

In turn, Viktor Yanukovych stressed that he would like to discuss once more the agenda of EU - Ukraine relations and the issue of future conferences of the Eastern Partnership and to determine what can be done together on this way.

Štefan Füle praised the opportunities provided for communication by Yalta Annual Meeting. In his view, it is "very useful and unique event." "We are all grateful for this opportunity because it's really something unique," he added.

Štefan Füle said that this year at the Yalta Annual Meeting gathered together representatives of different organizations of the European Union. "The positive is that during the discussion we can focus on certain points, very important for EU - Ukraine relations," he said.
