The head of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe Gianni Buquicchio calls all political forces of Ukraine to unite for development of a new Constitution.
"Ukraine deserves better Constitution, more balanced one. It is a difficult task, but I call all the political force of Ukraine to work in this direction. And I insist that to do so total consolidation is needed," Buquicchio told the press.
On February 2011 president Viktor Yanukovych formed an expert group on planning Constitutional Assembly, headed by the first president of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk. On June Kravchuk announced that this composition of the parliament would not adopt any changes to the Constitution.
