In four years the Ukrainian army will consist of contract soldiers by 80%, defense minister Mykhailo Yazhel told a briefing.
"The government has adopted main strategic documents regarding the reformation of the Armed Forces till 2017. At the end of September the National Security Council will consider a number of military issues," he said.
Yezhel also noted that the Defense Ministry plans to improve the functional structure of the Armed Forces. "By the end of 2015 it is planned to increase the number of contract soldiers up to 80%," he assured.
