When implementing reforms, the government should maintain constant dialogue with citizens, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting with candidates for district state administration chairmen.

He expressed certainty that the success of reforms will largely depend on how well they are explained to the public.

"It is necessary to explain to people, why the reforms are implemented and what will they give us," Viktor Yanukovych stressed.

Many of the problems with carrying out reforms are caused by people not being informed properly on their the objectives and consequences, he said.

Addressing the audience, the President urged them to work effectively to promote regional development in general and to solve specific issues of people. "Your work will be evaluated by the people. And through that – my work. Therefore it is necessary to keep a finger on the pulse of life, to know what the people need, to meet these needs," Viktor Yanukovych said.
