JSC Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller at a meeting with Ukraine's Minister of Energy and Coal Industry in Moscow did not propose Ukraine to cooperate in energy sector based on the Belarusian scenario, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told reporters Friday, according to UKRINFORM.

"Miller did not submit any proposals and he could not submit, because this issue is under discussion and study. When the study ends, we will examine this issue, and then talk about it," Azarov emphasized.

He added that the Russian side did not deliver any proposals and is waiting an initiative from Ukraine.

"The Russian side is waiting for proposals from us. They formulated what they want. We are studying and thinking about what we can offer to the Russian side to negotiate," the prime minister said.

Last week UKRINFORM reported that Alexei Miller during the Moscow meeting August 15 with Yuriy Boiko said the development of cooperation between Ukraine and Russia in gas sector could be built on the same model as with Belarus.

As known, Gazprom owns a 50% stake in the Belarusian gas transportation company Beltransgaz. Currently, negotiations are underway to purchase another 50%.
