The Batkivshchyna Party plans to appeal to all democratic organization
and diplomatic mission regarding the threat to Yulia Tymoshenko’s life.
"This morning her lawyers again asked for an urgent medical
examination, however, Kireyev said he will officially inform them of his
decision," Oleksandr Turchynov, the first deputy head of Batkivshchyna,
told journalists today, according to the official website of Yulia Tymoshenko.
According to him, Yulia Tymoshenko’s health has deteriorated while
being held in custody. "You know how brave Yulia Tymoshenko is remaining
despite the absurd charges, despite the violations of the Constitution
and law during this disgraceful trial. But yesterday her health began to
deteriorate for unknown reasons," he said.
"Her condition is so bad that she can’t take the short walks that she’s allowed in prison," he added.
Today the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv refused to
consider the defense’s request to allow a doctor examine Yulia
Tymoshenko. Judge Kireyev said that "all the defense’s questions" will
be addressed according to the manner prescribed by the law. When asked
by the ex-premier's lawyers at exactly what time the request will be
considered, the judge asked that they "not contradict the presiding
judge."
"This isn’t a trial, this is a lynching. If the court knowingly
doesn’t give me permission to see a doctor, then the judge is knowingly
violating his oath," said Yulia Tymoshenko.
