Ukraine values highly the friendly relations with Turkmenistan and is
interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation between our
countries, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting in Crimea with
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. "I am
confident our desire to develop mutually beneficial cooperation is based
on the good traditions of friendship between our peoples," the
President said.
President Yanukovych stressed he is convinced
of the need to support active high-level political dialogue with
Turkmenistan. "Holding regular high-level meetings is very important for
us and our partners," Viktor Yanukovych said.
The Ukrainian
President also expressed confidence that the attention both parties
dedicate to the development of their partnership will be always
supported by their countries’ peoples.
In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov thanked the
President Viktor Yanukovch for his appreciation of the traditionally
friendly relations between the two countries. He also conveyed to
President Yanukovych President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly
Berdimuhamedov’s greetings. "Sending me to Ukraine, the President of our
country has provided clear guidance and instructions regarding the
preparation of the official visit of the President of Ukraine to
Turkmenistan," the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
He
expressed the belief that frank and friendly dialogue between the
leaders of Ukraine and Turkmenistan is an important factor to further
strengthening and developing Ukrainian-Turkmen relations. "The President
asked me to convey to you that Turkmenistan has been, is and will
remain a friend of Ukraine; the country always open to cooperation with
Ukraine and considering it a reliable and long-term partner," Rashid
Meredov said.
