40 guarantees ask court to release Tymoshenko, but judge leaves Tymoshenko in custody

40 guarantees asked Pechersk District Court of Kyiv release on bail Yulia Tymoshenko. Defender of Yulia Tymoshenko Yuriy Sukhov made a motion on changing the preventive punishment towards Yulia Tymoshenko from taking into custody into bailment that was based on statements of representatives of the Ukrainian intelligentsia.

Judge Rodion Kireyev has rejected the defense petition to changes the restrictive measure against Yulia Tymoshenko from incarceration to release on guarantee of appearance in court.

"There are no grounds to change the measure of restraint. The motion is denied," Rodion Kireyev said.
