Medvedev did not come to Crimea because of Ukraine's refusal to unite Gazprom and Naftogas

President of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev decided not to come to Crimea because of Ukriane's refusal to sign an agreement on merge of Gazprom and Naftogaz, a source in the Kremlin informed.

"As we recognized it unprofitable for us, we were told there would be no visit. Though, taking into account current situation regarding Russian-Ukrainian relations, we are interested in any contact of presidents, regardless with signing documents or not," the source told "Komersant".

The Kremlin confirmed this version, saying that the Russian party counted first of all on discussion and signing of certain agreements.

"When we got to know this wouldn't happen, Dmitriy Medvedev decided not to go to Crimea, but showed that Moscow is always open for negotiations," Kremlin official explained.

Russian president Medvedev was supposed to come to Crimea for the celebration of the Day of Russian Black Sea Fleet on July 31.
