Oleksandr Plakhotniuk, a lawyer for former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, has asked the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv to return the gas supply case against Tymoshenko to pre-trial investigation in order to correct mistakes in the text of the indictment.

"The defense team paid attention to the fact that the text [of the indictment], which was read out in court, does not correspond to the text handed over to the defendant," he said during the consideration of the criminal case opened against Tymoshenko.

Judge Rodion Kireyev has rejected the defense’s request to send the indictment back to the Prosecutor General’s Office to correct errors and discrepancies.

“The indictment was prepared in accordance with the law. Motion is rejected,” Judge Rodion Kireyev said after an hour-long break in the hearing.

“The prosecutor read an indictment with mixed up dates, terms, circumstances. Gibberish. The prosecutor’s position: ignore obvious problems in the text of the indictment and try as is. What’s the different, the verdict is already written,” Yulia Tymoshenko wrote on Twitter.
