President Viktor Yanukovych urges the Interior Ministry personnel to
always follow the principle of equidistance from political forces in
their work and in no case allow their involvement in politics, he said
at a meeting with Interior Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov in Crimea.
"Your cause is ensuring law and order, and in no case acting the side of a political force," Viktor Yanukovych said.
The President stressed he expects the Interior Ministry to show a responsible attitude to this issue. It becomes even more important due to the approaching election campaign, when “there will be attempts of involving the law enforcement in politics."
In turn, Anatoliy Mohyliov reported to Viktor Yanukovych that at a recent Board of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, he had drawn the attention of his subordinates: violators must be accountable before the law regardless of their party affiliation.
