President Viktor Yanukovych has met with Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Social Policy Serhiy Tigipko. At the meeting they have discussed amending the pension reform bill. The relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada is currently working on amendments to the bill, the Minister for Social Policy said after the meeting.

The President has instructed the Government to prepare in two months the bills necessary for the legalization of wages and jobs, the Labor Code and the introduction of the second level of pension reform. According to Serhiy Tigipko, in September this year these issues would be brought up for a public debate.

With the implementation of all the tasks set by the President of Ukraine, the Government would be able to increase pensions to 60 per cent of Ukrainian pensioners next year. "This solution is complex and we need to vote the submitted changes to the pension legislation for its implementation... With this set of solutions we can ensure that pensioners receive higher pensions," the Minister said.
