He thanked the countries that had taken part in this year’s International Conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Cornobyl disaster, adding that the conference had raised a significant amount of funds for the construction of the Shelter.
"The funds collected during the conference give an opportunity to start building the Shelter facility and, according to the approved plan, complete it in in 2015. We hope that with the support of our international partners we will be able to do it. We believe that the commitments made by Ukraine to the G8 will be carried out," he said.
