The government wants to urgently begin the trial against her, Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has said, according to her official website.
"I just received a telegram. Yanukovych decided to start the Pechersk judgment against me immediately – this Friday (June 24) at 9:00 a.m., Khreshchatyk 42-A," Yulia Tymoshenko said.
Yulia Tymoshenko had planned to travel to Strasbourg on June 21-22 and Brussels on June 23, but her request for permission to travel abroad was denied by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
The European Parliament recently passed a resolution urging the Ukrainian government to lift the domestic and international travel ban imposed on the former prime minister.
