Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has been invited to attend the June 21-22 session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

Yulia Tymoshenko filed a request for permission to travel to Strasbourg for the PACE session with the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) on June 14. According to Ukrainian law, the PGO must respond within three days.

"Thank you for the invitation to PACE on June 21-22. Yesterday I gave Yanukovych’s prosecutors a request to go to the session in Strasbourg. What will he come up with this time?" Yulia Tymoshenko wrote on Twitter.

As reported, on June 9 the European Parliament passed a resolution calling on the Ukrainian government to lift the domestic and international travel ban on Yulia Tymoshenko.

The documents referenced in the European Parliament’s resolution were ratified by Ukraine, which is a member of the Council of Europe, and are binding for the Ukrainian government.
