The Verkhovna Rada has supported the recall of the government bill on pension reform in Ukraine, which provided for gradually raising the retirement age for women from 55 to 60 years, annually increasing it by 6 months, UKRINFORM reported.

As reported, the Cabinet deferred pension reform, because the government wants to get public support. Such a statement was made by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at the Congress of Trade Unions on March 23.

On March 18, President Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine quashed consideration in parliament of the bill on pension reform, submitted by the Cabinet on December 20, 2010.

To get the next tranche of the IMF loan, Ukraine should have adopted a law on implementation of pension reform before the end of March 2011.
