Spring Protest March as part of the all-Ukrainian rally Forward! was launched in Kyiv Thursday, at the walls of the Verkhovna Rada. The watchword of the event is 'Power - stop, people - forward!'
Organizers of the protest, activists of civil movements Tax Maidan and AutoMaidan, managed to gather about a thousand people, although 13,000 participants were declared, UKRINFORM reported.
Among the main demands of the protesters there are adoption of a package of 'people's reforms', increase in wages and pensions, dismissal of the government and the authors of unpopular reforms, cessation of political and economic repression, real fight against corruption.
The organizers say the rally will be held across the country, supported by more than 200 community organizations and trade unions of small and medium-sized businesses.
In general, the rally outside the Parliament is peaceful, but the police detained three activists of the infamous female movement FEMEN, who traditionally stripped themselves naked.
