President Viktor Yanukovych chaired a meeting of the Governing Council of the Committee on Economic Reforms, presidential press office reported.

Opening the meeting, President Yanukovych stressed that today's agenda includes reforming the areas, which are particularly sensitive to the millions of Ukrainian citizens: healthcare, education, and housing and communal services.

"These are the most vulnerable areas of life of our country that need our special attention and special preparation. It means that nothing must be done in a hurry here," Viktor Yanukovych said.

The President added that the meeting will also hear a concept of the State Regional Development Fund, which will already next year start managing budget money intended for spending on the needs of the regions. "This is also an issue that we had previously discussed. We will create a mechanism that will work on the development of the regions of Ukraine," he said.

"I would like to point out that the progress of reforms in healthcare, education or communal and housing services cannot satisfy us today. I refer to myself personally too, because I am directly responsible. But you, dear colleagues, as performers, have certainly not yet reached the optimum speed, which we had discussed," he said, addressing the members of the Governing Council.
