The Government will tighten control over use of budgetary resources of central and local authorities, said the First vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Andriy Klyuyev.
Accordin to him, the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister are very dissatisfied with cases of unjustified budget expenditures.
Andriy Klyuyev said that he had instructed all ministers and heads of central authorities to submit to the Ministry of Finance all the details about budget expenditures for cars, furniture and other equipment, mobile phones and computers for 2010-2011. Also referred to the expenditures of hosting events and recreation management of the state bodies and institutions and organizations that are kept from the state budget, he added.
According to the vice PM, Ministry of Finance and the State Treasury must systematize the information within a week and propose options for reducing costs and optimizing budget. They were also instructed to establish a monthly monitoring of such expenditures with further reporting at the next Cabinet session, said Andriy Klyuyev.
He also said that the State Financial Inspection shall prepare an analytical report on the key causes of violations of fiscal discipline and suggest possible mechanisms to minimize such risks.
