President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a Decree today approving the National Plan of Action to implement the EU Action Plan towards visa liberalization for Ukraine. 

The National Action Plan aims, inter alia, to reform the migration system of Ukraine and the system of protection of personal data, and introduce integrated border management of the European standard. It contains a clear list of actions, determines the terms of their performance and the responsibility of central government authorities for the quality of their implementation. 

The President has identified the introduction of visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens to the EU countries as a strategic priority in the EU-Ukraine relations. In this regard, Ukraine meeting its commitments on the way towards the visa-free travel is very important. 

The introduction of the National Plan of Action shows Ukraine’s serious willingness of implement the Action Plan towards visa liberalization, which the European Union granted to Ukraine at the Fourteenth EU - Ukraine Summit on November 22, 2010. 

For its part, the Ukrainian side expects the countries-members of the European Union to exhibit the reciprocal commitment to approving decisions on the introduction of visa-free travel for our state’s citizens.
