The head of state outlined the main areas that require modernization: "Industrial and scientific potential of our country remains untapped," the president stressed.
Yanukovych emphasized that Ukraine has a unique geographical location, which creates ideal conditions for the production of various products targeted at markets in Europe and other countries.
"Our country has deposits of rare minerals, which creates great opportunities for development of industries. Ukraine has the black earth and all that is necessary in order to become one of the agrarian leaders of the modern world," he said.
At the same time, Yanukovych sees a powerful human capital crucial, because, despite the crisis processes in the modern national education, Ukraine is still preparing a professional staff.
