The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ready to give Ukraine 120 million euros for Chornobyl-related projects, EBRD Vice President for Risk and Resources Horst Reichenbach told the press, UKRINFORM reported.

According to him, in general, the Bank plans to allocate 25% of the funds, which will be collected by other donors. "The bank plans to supplement the amount of funds that will be collected by donors. For example, donors will reach 480 million euros, the bank is ready to give 120 million euros," the vice-president emphasized.

Reichenbach added that "the bank is willing to grant 120 million euros in any case". "If the donors exceed the amount and collect more, the bank is ready to exceed its plans," he continued.

The EBRD official added that the final size of the fee the Bank will approve at the 2011 EBRD Annual Meeting in May in Astana, Kazakhstan.

He recalled that the lack of funds to implement projects at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is estimated at 740 million euros.
