"My impression is that in the first months after the change in government in Ukraine, European leaders still had hope that reforms would be carried out in Ukraine. Now they’ve taken off their rose-colored glasses and can see very well what’s happening in Ukraine: the rollback of democracy and development of authoritarianism. European politicians no longer have any illusions about this," Yulia Tymoshenko said after a meeting with European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek in Brussels.
During the meeting with Mr. Buzek, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed that the Ukrainian opposition will do everything it can to stop Ukraine from moving away from democracy and a European future. "Europe fully understands and supports the Ukrainian people in their struggle for independence and our desire to move closer to the EU," she said.
