The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov 14-16 March 2011 carried out an official visit to Israel and met in Jerusalem with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. Heads of governments shared views on wide range of Ukrainian-Israeli relations on trade and economic relations and important international and regional issues.

The sides expressed satisfaction over the high dynamics of bilateral relations and high-level dialogue between the two countries. Mykola Azarov  and Benjamin Netanyahu have confirmed the desire to maintain an active political dialogue and bilateral cooperation in economic, investment, scientific, cultural and humanitarian spheres and to encourage contacts between businessmen. Prime Ministers welcomed the introduction of visa free regime between Ukraine and Israel, which positively affected the joint further development of trade and tourism between the two countries.

They have recognized the issue of expert talks on creating FTA between Ukraine and Israel a priority in future bilateral relation. It was suggested to hold a first round of consultations during the sixth session of Ukrainian-Israeli Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in 2011. Both consider the possibility of coordination of the financial report as a mean for deepening trade and investment between the two countries.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine and Israel have devoted considerable attention to achieve enhanced agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Israel on social security for possible signing thus agreement during Viktor Yanukovych`s visit to Israel at the end of this year and implement its provisions at the beginning of 2012.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation in the conservation and enrichment of cultural heritage and traditions of Ukrainian and Jewish peoples.

The sides expressed readiness to promote Ukrainian-Jewish heritage by preserving historic places, conducting academic research and activities obeisance memory.

In view of the celebration in 2011 of the 20 th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Israel, the sides discussed the plan of joint activities.
