Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko believes the current
Ukrainian government is legalizing its corrupt deals through Ukraine’s
cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
"Shocking! We just got the letter between Ukraine and the IMF in which they gave us a $1.5 billion tranche. Point 16 legalized the corrupt deal with RosUkrEnergo for $4.5 billion," Yulia Tymoshenko wrote today on Twitter, according to her official website.
Yulia Tymoshenko once again stressed that Ukrainians "are having their last money taken away through increase tariffs and pension reform and given to the corrupt pocket of RosUkrEnergo."
Yulia Tymoshenko also said that her team is carefully reviewing this document. "Right now we’re translating this letter and will have it in the morning. Once again it is clear that we must help ourselves because nobody else will. Tomorrow there will be a press conference," she said.
In Dec. 2010 Yulia Tymoshenko requested that the IMF send a monitoring mission to Ukraine to evaluate the deal to compensation RosUkrEnergo for 11 billion cubic meters of gas from the state budget.
