Ukraine is interested in construction of the new oil refinery on the Black Sea shore (the country's south) for processing Azerbaijan and Caspian oil, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told a meeting with Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, UKRINFORM reported.

"Now at the level of experts some joint projects are being developed. In particular, the matter concerns construction of the oil refining facility on the Black Sea on deep processing of Azerbaijan and Caspian oil," Azarov said.

Also, according to the Head of government, Ukraine is interested that NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine participated in prospecting of perspective oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan.

Presently, six oil refineries are working in Ukraine, their capacity amounts to 51.11 million tons of oil a year.

According to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, three oil refineries, such as Odesa (LUKOIL), Lysychansk (TNK-BP) and Kremenchuk (Ukrtatnafta) refineries control 66% of the Ukrainian market of gasoline and 51% of diesel fuel market.
