Foreigners directly invested 5 billion 986.0 million dollars in the economy of Ukraine in 2010, which is 6.2% more than in 2009 (5 billion 634.6 million dollars), the State Statistics Service reported, according to UKRINFORM.
The EU invested 4 billion 605.8 million dollars (76.9% of the total volume), CIS countries 849.2 million dollars (14.2%), other countries of the world 531.0 million dollars (8.9%). Investment was made mainly in the form of cash contributions, which totaled 5 billion 684.8 million dollars (95.0% of invested amount).
Increase in the total foreign capital in the economy, given its revaluation, losses, exchange rates, etc., amounted to 4 billion 655.0 million dollars for 2010.
Increase in foreign capital was observed at enterprises engaged in financial activities (in the amount of 2 billion 628.5 million dollars), real estate transactions, leasing, engineering and provision of services to entrepreneurs (485.6 million dollars), trade, repair of motor vehicles, household goods and items of personal consumption (447.9 million dollars), as well as at industrial enterprises (766.2 million dollars).
