Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko demands that Viktor Yanukovych create a special working group representing a wide range of professionals to discuss pension reform guidelines, incorporating suggestions from the opposition’s alternative legislation, Tymoshenko's official website cited the opposition leader.

"The bill, which is an alternative to that offered by Yanukovych, builds a fair pension system, one that is equal for all future retirees, correctly and competently combines a common pension system with personalized pension reform, which properly sets the wage, which fully removes the equalization of pensions and, moreover, does not allow raising the retirement age, does not discriminate a person when he wants to choose the base for the calculation of his pension, making pension provision just and thus financially viable for the state," Yulia Tymoshenko said at a news conference.

It is expected that tomorrow, February 16th, former Minister of Labor and Social Policy Lyudmyla Denisova will present in the Verkhovna Rada an alternative vision for pension reform, which was developed by the government of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"This bill, together with the concept for pension reform was discussed with all the institutions – with unions, employers, and all the members of civil society who care about the quality of pension reform," added Yulia Tymoshenko.

"Tomorrow after Mrs. Denisova’s report on alternatives offered by our team, we will introduce this bill, along with a concept that clearly and in detail explains this pension reform, and it will include the demand that Yanukovych instruct his government to form a working group, which will find the right solution for pension reform, and will protect people from attacks on their rights, which is happening currently," she said.
