Hanna Herman, deputy chief of the President Yanukovych administration, said a statement of the leader of the opposition Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party Yulia Tymoshenko about the existence of threats to her life from the head of state Viktor Yanukovych is a "desperate attempt to attract public attention", Herman was speaking in Warsaw, as part of Yanukovych's state visit to Poland.

"This threat she has invented for herself, and because of the fact that she, as a politician, is extremely rapidly losing popularity and rating," the official stressed, UKRINFORM reported.

"Instead of looking for the cause of all her failures and losses in recent years among external enemies, the former prime minister should take a closer look at herself and her entourage. What she is doing now can be called a political suicide," Herman believes.

Tymoshenko told reporters on Thursday that she had no suicidal feelings, and stressed: "Whatever happens to me, it will be personal responsibility of Ukrainian President Yanukovych".
