The contest will start on February 10. A feature film about the Chornobyl disaster of joint production of Ukraine, Russia and Germany will be among 16 films from around the world competing for the Golden Bear prize of the festival, National radio reported.

Known for its commitment to social issues "Berlinale" is not for the first time selects Ukrainian films for the competition program. Thus, for two previous years our country was represented by Myroslav Slaboshpytsky with his works. The competion's highest award were won twice  by the Ukrainian film makers- under the Soviet times by   Kira Muratova for her "Asthenic syndrome" and in 2003  by Stepan Koval for animated film "Tram Route 9".
