The Cabinet of Ministers has called on foreign investors to come to Ukraine more actively, because the government is creating all of the necessary conditions for doing business, Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Development and Trade Minister Andriy Kliuyev said in an interview to CNN.

"We want as much as possible investments to come to Ukraine," he said. Kliuyev noted that the number of permits and licenses for business doing in Ukraine had been reduced by many times and that the government would move confidently by improving the investment climate. In particular, work is now underway on the introduction of a mechanism for the receipt by enterprises of all permits through a "single window," UKRINFORM reported, with reference to the press service of the first deputy prime minister and economic development and trade minister.

According Kliuyev, the new tax code also encourages investors to open new businesses or expand the existing ones. "For example, we currently don't tax the income, which investors invest in the development of their production and in the increase in its energy efficiency. In addition, we are reducing the VAT and income tax. A number of priority areas have been exempted from income tax for several years," he said.

As an example of steps taken for the sake of investors, the official called the changes to the law about construction, which were adopted by the Ukrainian parliament in early 2011. "We have maximally reduced the number of all possible procedures for obtaining permits for construction and commissioning. Until recently, in order to build any facility, it was necessary to obtain 93 permits. Under the new law, the number of permits was reduced to 23," Kliuyev said.
