President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych had a telephone conversation with the newly elected President of Brazil Dilma Vana Rousseff. 

Viktor Yanukovych congratulated Dilma Vana Rousseff on her election as the President of Brazil and wished her success in the state activities.

Viktor Yanukovych expressed his hope that relations between Ukraine and Brazil, which in recent years have evolved into strategic partnership, will develop further through implementation of specific projects in different areas.

"We attach special importance to our joint project Alcantara Cyclone Space, which is now being implemented actively," Viktor Yanukovych said. He also expressed his hope that Cyclone - 4 Space Vehicle will be launched successfully for the first time from the Alcantara Space Center in 2012.

"It is important that the two of us were present at this launch," the President of Brazil said.

The Presidents have also discussed preparation for observation of the 120th anniversary of Ukrainian immigration to Brazil. "We are very pleased that there is a large Ukrainian community living in Brazil" Dilma Vana Rousseff said, assuring that the Brazilian government will provide all the assistance in organizing the observation.

Viktor Yanukovych expressed his support to the Brazilian nation in the fight against flooding.

The Ukrainian President also invited Dilma Vana Rousseff to visit Ukraine and informed her of the high-level international conference "Twenty-five years of the Chernobyl disaster” to be held in April 2011 in Kyiv, which will be attended by leaders of many countries.

"We would be glad to welcome you as a participant of this conference," Viktor Yanukovych said. 

The Brazilian President in turn stressed that she accepts the invitation to visit Ukraine this year with pleasure.
