President Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine in prospect sees Ukraine as part of the European Union. He stated this on Tuesday during a meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic establishments of Ukraine, UKRINFORM reported.
Yanukovych believes the European Union today is an optimal model of social development. "We see the European Union as an optimal model of social development, economy, public institutions and in the future, as our home ... We are intend without too much fuss to achieve our goals," the head of state emphasized.
The president also said he wants diplomatic missions were active in carrying out explanatory work and dispelling negative stereotypes about Ukraine.
"Ukraine's foreign political activity must be planned and systematic. Meetings at the highest level should be the logical culmination of the work of embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Initiatives that are made by the Foreign Ministry with respect to Ukraine must not be empty, but far-sighted," he stressed.
