Yulia Tymoshenko is confident that if Viktor Yanukovych does not veto the tax
code, entrepreneurs will be able to collect the 3 million signatures
needed to hold a referendum on early presidential and parliamentary
elections.
"Three million signatures are required to hold a referendum. I think that if we start this process together, clearly, openly and correctly, at least half the country will sign these documents," Yulia Tymoshenko said in her address to protesters on Independence Square in Kyiv.
The former prime minister said that regional party organizations will help collect signatures. "Our entire team will join you in collecting signatures – in all cities, raions and oblasts."
"If tens of million of people give their signature for early presidential and parliamentary elections, who will be able to hold on to their posts? Nobody! It’s impossible! Therefore, there’s only one thing that today can defend and save Ukraine – your brave and courageous coordinated actions. There is nobody else that can do this today but you," she said.
