"We can’t allow any revision to the law on Verkhovna Rada elections," she said, speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, according to the official website.
"It has been announced that changes to the Verkhovna Rada election law are in the works. I can say that any changes to the existing law will be aimed at implementing the same models and systems of fraud that were used in the local elections."
She said changes to the law on the election of people’s deputies will lead to systematic and widespread fraud in the next parliamentary elections.
"Any changes made by the authorities are only to prepare for new systematic fraud, but this time in the parliamentary polls. Therefore, we can’t allow any changes to be made."
In her opinion, the current law ensures that the electoral process is democratic.
"The 2006 and 2007 parliamentary elections were fair, open, transparent and democratic. There were no concerns raised from political parties or international institutions."
"That’s why I see no reason, other than to commit fraud, for changing the current law. I don’t want to see this law reformed in the interest of the Party of Regions."
"I would like to inform the public that revisions are being readied and so we must collectively try to stop this process. Our political team will do everything politically possible to influence this process," she added.
