The Batkivshchyna party plans to lodge a complaint with the European
Court of Human Rights over the right of its representatives to be
elected, which was violated in the recent local elections.
"There’s no sense in counting on the courts in Ukraine. Ukraine’s judicial system was destroyed prior to the start of the electoral process. Therefore, I will support the appeal from members of our team, candidates for village, town and city heads and council seats, to the European Court of Human Rights," Yulia Tymoshenko said today at a press conference in Kyiv.
"If there is no justice in Ukraine, then we have to go to courts that can deliver a just and fair ruling," she added.
