President notes absence of systematic violations during October 31 election

President Viktor Yanukovych praises the lack of systematic violations during the local elections on October 31.

"Overall, it is good that there were no systematic violations. This is emphasized by international observers and the police," he said in an interview in the Donetsk region.

According to the President, the election did not differ from those in all other countries: "There were those satisfied and dissatisfied, winners and losers. That is life. "

The President stressed that he has appealed to the Ukrainian people thanking all those, who came and voted on October 31.

"The election was held. Certainly, there were various technical problems but they were connected to the imperfection of the Ukrainian law," Viktor Yanukovych said.

"It was very important to form local governments, that the people chose those whom they trust," he said.

He noted that the work on national election laws would continue. "We will approve necessary laws and then ring them together in the Electoral Code that will be applied to elections at all levels. We will end the practice of adopting laws for particular election," the President said.
