The local elections in Ukraine have been held without significant violations.

MEP Pawel Kowal, who led the team of official observers from the European Parliament in the local elections in Ukraine, announced this in an interview with the Polish Press Agency (Polish: Polska Agencja Prasowa, PAP), UKRINFORM reported.

"I haven't seen any violations. But I know from the observers that there have been a significant number, I stress, of minor violations. They will probably not influence the election process," Kowal said.

At the same time, the MEP said that changes in Ukraine's electoral legislation had caused the greatest concern of the international community. "I think that criticism by the observers will focus on the period preceding the elections, rather than directly the vote," Kowal said.
