In order to prevent deterioration of living standards of citizens,
reduction of their real incomes, and exceeding of the expected level of
annual consumer price inflation, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych
has instructed Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to analyze the situation on
the consumer market, determine the causes of food prices growth, and
develop a plan of urgent measures aimed at reducing the inflation,
particularly the growth of prices for goods that are part of the minimum
consumer budget.
In addition, the Prime Minister and the
Chairman of the Central Bank are to take measures to encourage economic
activity in sectors, whose products are experiencing price increases,
including by promoting lending to businesses.
Chairman of the
Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Oleksiy Kostusev was instructed to
check observation of the Law on Protection of Economic Competition and
if there are cases of prices growth being caused by concerted actions of
economic entities.
