Viktor Yanukovych believes Ukraine is moving along the way of integration into the European Union to join the EU member states, and he considers it to be a key priority of foreign policy. According to the President, there are three points on today’s agenda of Ukraine-EU cooperation: signing an agreement on association, agreement on free trade area and agreement on visa-free travel.

“All these three issues are interconnected, and we are working actively with the European Commission on their solution,” the Head of state said during talks with Slovakian President Ivan Gasparovic in Kiev.

“Ukraine-EU Summit will take place on November 22, 2010. There I am sure we will approach closely to the signing of these agreements,” the President noted.

Viktor Yanukovych has also pointed to the fact that Ukraine in a short period of time passed a complicated process of uniting all branches of power, and today political stability is established in our country.

“Power is working as a sole body. Reforms are underway in Ukraine. The Constitution of 1996 version is in effect from October 1, and now Ukraine is already a presidential-parliamentary republic,” the President said.

According to the Head of state, promotion of internal political stability in Ukraine favors reforms in our state and definitely forges ahead European integration.
