Ukraine's parliament on Wednesday voted to support a recent decision to reverse a 2004 reform that curbed presidential powers.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych assured that Ukraine will remain a democratic state, despite the recent reversal of a 2004 reform that curbed presidential powers.

"The decision by the Constitutional Court has taken Ukraine back to a legal framework," he told UK Prime Minister David Cameron during a recent telephone conversation.

"I, more than anyone else, want processes in Ukraine to be both transparent and democratic," he said.
